I've been in the media industry in different capacities for more than 15 years and I know, having produced a lot of stories, the voice can either make or break your work.
About Me
The Power of Voice
I am deeply passionate about the power of voice.
My tertiary education and career to date has been about drawing out and telling stories through voiceovers, theatre, music, television/print journalism and documentary. We as humans yearn for connection, understanding and empathy. I've learnt first hand that these mediums are powerful ways to attain these things. I believe every piece of media or film needs a voice that truly understands the material at hand and the nuance of word choice, tone, speed and emphasis so that your message gets across with purpose, volume and clarity to your
intended audience, so you get the call to action you need.
My Voice
I recorded my first voiceover was when I was just 11 years old.
From that point on my interest was piqued. A degree in Theatre and English, a Masters in Broadcast Journalism and a lengthy stint at one of the world's biggest and most recognisable news organisations later, I came back to voiceovers in my thirties. Professionally, I have been recording voiceovers for almost a decade. I've put my voice to projects with more than a hundred companies. From banking to jewellery, education to adverts, government to charities, home furnishings to telecommunications, I've done it. I've worked with veteran voiceover artists, agents, coaches and clients to hone my voice, editing skills and craft.
I Get You
I've received invaluable lessons cutting my teeth in journalism
and production primarily at CNN in my twenties and early thirties. I worked with and learnt from some of the best news and features professionals in the business. All the while liaising with high profile guests and their communications teams. I've also been fortunate to deep dive into storytelling and voice, producing my first feature documentary with celebrated Director and Producer Joanna Bowers.
Each of the stories I've had the honour of telling on TV, film, print and commercially have had their own impactful message told with professionalism and nuance. I know what high standards are. I know what a deadline is. I know there is an art to each story.
